Keys to Successful Marketing

At my company we do a lot of Marketing actions to reach our target audience.
Sometimes we figure out if a channel works or not by trial and error, and sometimes we feel our energy and time was not very well spent.

At the Venus Academy full day workshop ‘Keys to Marketing Success’ we were taken by the hand by Carolyn Banks and her wealth of knowledge, through a clear educational experience, learning from the basics of marketing to understanding what marketing channels are the best for each of our businesses, and building a marketing plan as we go.

We were a diverse group of business owners so the insight exchanges we had in that workshop about each other’s business was also very valuable and inspiring.

This knowledge will also come in handy when you hire a marketing professional and have to tell them what you need from them.

Personal Branding

Thank you for a great Personal Branding workshop last week. I was feeling somewhat resistant (re anti-pressure on women that you spoke of) when I woke up that day but decided I was going to make the most of it and learn from it. You absolutely kept me in the positive space. It was great to get a better sense of what works for me, my personal brand and my business, without feeling out of my depth.

Seal The Deal

On Monday 30th July, I took a day out of my business to work on my business. I attended the one-day Seal the Deal workshop offered through the Venus Academy. This workshop was facilitated by Gaylene Hughes and was a fantastic opportunity get back to basics and learn how to Seal the Deal and get those sales.

I’ve been running my business, Adaptive Technology Solutions for 11 years and, while we covered some things I knew, there was plenty I didn’t know or needed reminding about.

This workshop was excellent value for money and Gaylene was a fantastic facilitator, explaining everything and not making any assumptions about what knowledge participants already had.

My recommendation toL is if you get the opportunity to attend a Seal the Deal workshop in your area, in the words of Gaylene Hughes, Just Do It!

I’d also like to thank Carolyn Banks for suggesting a more accessible venue and Gaylene Hughes for being willing to change venues at short notice, allowing me with my wheelchair and Guide Dog to attend, but also acknowledging that there are many different women in Venus with many different needs.

Initially, I was hesitant to attend the Seal the Deal workshop due to the cost, and I wasn’t completely sure what topics were included; however, I was sold when Jennifer visited our Venus group and explained what she would be covering and that she would be the one facilitating – she has great energy and really knows her stuff!

Within 1 week of attending ‘Seal the Deal’, I have reviewed by potential client list and created a proper sales pipeline using a free version of an online CRM programme. I’m not just ‘winging it’ anymore – I have a plan!

I would definitely attend future Venus Academy workshops and have already recommended ‘Seal the Deal’ to a fellow Venus member.

After meeting Jennifer for a RAVE and learning that she was running the Seal the Deal workshop, I was excited at the prospect of learning more sales skills and hopefully enabling myself to become better at promoting our company’s services.

I had 4 major takeaways from the workshop! The first was that I need to sell the VALUE of working with our company. It also occurred to me that I need to get in better touch with our company’s ‘why’, rather than our ‘what’. I’ve learned how I can settle objections before they even come up, and I’ll begin practicing this.
